At ESTeem, we design and manufacture industrial wireless radios that meet application challenges across a broad range of industries.
But those aren’t our only roles: We’re also a steadfast promoter of industrial wireless, and we’re here to make your job easier.
That’s not quite what you expect from a modem manufacturer, is it?
It makes sense, though, when you think about the significant tools we provide to help ensure your success through every stop of the design process.
Software Tools
First off is our RF Design Tool, which – along with detailed instructions – is available free on our website. This simple-to-use spreadsheet requires the input of some basic information concerning distances, elevations and a few other measurements specific to your application.
In the background, the spreadsheet does the necessary calculations to tell you:
- If you have enough signal
- The expected data rate
In the process, our design tool also provides a great deal of detailed information including calculations for each end of the radio system, key site data, hardware and accessory recommendations and potential trouble spots.
If potential issues are indicated, the software gives you the ability to finetune your network, say by adjusting antenna heights or the length of coax cables, until the report reflects a wireless network that meets your needs.
The beauty of this tool is that it doesn’t spit out a simple pass or fail judgment. It instead provides a running assessment of how well your network will operate.
Being able to test your network plans via software, rather than in the real world, saves you real time and money.
Real World Tools
But you have to face the real world at some point, and we provide two useful tools to help you double-check the software’s recommendations vs. the actual conditions involved with your application.
The first is the Site Planning Checklist, again available for free on our website. This handy document helps you make sure you don’t miss any steps in the process.
The second is a specially created spectrum analyzer – a tool usually available only to RF professionals – that we offer at a fraction of the cost of the analyzers used by professionals. We designed the software-hardware combo package with a simplified user format to enable its use by nonprofessionals.
The analyzer provides a visual representation of what’s happening in the electromagnetic spectrum from the standpoint of frequency and intensity. It basically allows you to see the radio frequencies available for your application and compare those to the information provided by the RF Design Tool.
As a leading manufacturer of industrial wireless radios, we go above and beyond to ensure you have the tools you need for a successful wireless network that you’re comfortable with and understand.
But you don’t have to go it alone. We offer on-line factory training sessions and provide free technical support for our customers. Our staff is not only well-versed in ESTeem’s hardware, but they also have a working understanding of the devices that get plugged into a network created with our wireless radios. That knowledge base and expertise mean we can help you trouble shoot a wide range of issues that might occur.
Every customer success is also a success for wireless technology in general. ESTeem was an early proponent of wireless solutions in industrial settings. We’ve seen time and again how wireless provides the right answer when an application presents the challenges of distance, mobility or inaccessibility.
If you’re faced with a tough industrial networking challenge, you can rest assured that ESTeem will provide the tools for your success. Contact us today for additional information.
